Dr. Carolyn Castillo serves as the Deputy Director for Teaching and Learning Services at Education Service Center, Region 20. Carolyn is responsible for building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including the Texas Education Agency (TEA), community partners, and professional organizations, in support of serving the educational community.
She graduated from the San Antonio ISD and has obtained three degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Castillo has served as a bilingual teacher and Director of Early Childhood Education at SAISD and as a literacy consultant, Curriculum Coordinator, Component Director, and Deputy Director at ESC-20 since 2002.
Her education credentials include a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies, and Master’s in Educational Administration, and a B.A. in Elementary Education. She is certified in Mid-Management Administration, Elementary Spanish, Elementary, Bilingual/ESL, and Early Childhood. Carolyn is also a Certified Professional Coach. She is a first-generation college graduate, bilingual educator, and a proud native of San Antonio.
